Electrical Current:
Personal appliances run on 110/115 volt, 60 cycle current. If you're using appliances from another country, you may need an adapter and/or converter.
Liquor Law:
The legal drinking age is 21. Some establishments that also serve food do permit entry of those persons under 21 but will not serve alcohol to anyone under the legal age.
Florida Lottery:
Lottery tickets can be purchased at retail outlets throughout the state. Locations displaying a green and pink Florida Lottery logo sell tickets.
Driving in Florida:
All persons in a moving automobile are required to wear seat belts. Children under 5 years of age must be in a secure child seat. Driving is on the right hand side of the road. You may make a right turn on a red light after stopping. Please obey the posted speed limits (school zones: 15mph).
Smoking Laws: 386.204 Prohibition:
A person may not smoke in a public place or at a public meeting except in designated smoking areas. "Public Place" means the following enclosed, indoor areas used by the general public: Government buildings; Public means of mass transportation and their associated terminals not subject to federal smoking regulation; Elevators; Hospitals; Nursing homes; Educational facilities; Public school buses; Libraries; Courtrooms; Jury waiting and deliberation rooms; Museums; Theaters; Auditoriums; Arenas; Recreational facilities; Restaurants which seat more than 50 persons; Retail stores, except a retail store the primary business of which is the sale of tobacco or tobacco related products; Grocery stores; Places of employment; Health care facilities; Day care centers; and Common areas of retirement homes and condominiums.
